Resident Appreciate Week Extravaganza!
We really have the BEST residents! What better way to reward them than with a HUGE luau-themed party in the summer once nearly everyone is moved in?! Each year we change things up a bit but here is our 2010 calendar of events: ***Monday, August 16th: We put a pack of "Extra" gum on everyone's door with a note attached saying: Because you, our residents, are “Extra” special, we’ve devoted an entire week to making you feel appreciated! Mirabel and Muir Heights Apartments would not be what we are today without incredible residents like yourself! We hope that you take time this week to realize how important you are to us and to enjoy all the events we have planned for you. Draw from the hat Events
At the beginning of the week have all the tenants put there ideas in a hat, each day pick from the hat and plan that event for that night. Have food and beverages for all the tenants, and give away doorprizes away, like $50 off rent or household items.

Resident Appreciation Week
We held a week long event at varies times of the day so that all residents could attend one day or the other. This was our biggest turnout yet! Sundae Sunday; Resident were treated by staff making sundaes for residents with their choice of toppings Monday Bag Lunch; During the lunch hour resident could stop by to pick up a bag lunch filled with a sub sandwich, chips, fruit and drink. Tuesday Breakfast on the go; Beginning at 6am staff members stood outside at the driveway exit and handed breakfast bags filled with muffins, coffee, juice, fruit and breakfast bar to residents heading out to start their day. Wednesday Treat Day; Each apartment door had freshly baked cookies with a handwritten thank you note, in a bag hanging on their door. Thursday Resident Appreciation Dinner; Residents were treated to a catered dinner along with drawing for several prizes. ...

Resident Appreciation
During the past two months, our facility has had contractors crawling all over the place, providing many improvements which were awarded through the WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM. My tenants have been great through this period of renovations, allowing access for these contractors who installed 1) new water heaters; 2) new refrigerators; 3) new furnaces and air conditioners; 4) new windows; 5) replacement ductwork in the attic areas; and 6) blown-in insulation in the attic areas. The lives of my tenants have been disrupted frequently through this process, but they have been so cooperative and good-natured. Last week at the Rural Rental Housing Association of Kansas annual conference, I was awarded SITE MANAGER OF THE YEAR, nominated by my tenants and the board of this housing authority. That was a wonderful honor, but the ones who should be acknowledged are the tenants themselves, for their cooperative spirit through this time of renovation. ...

I am planning this event later this month. The resident will come to our community with there families and enjoy a nice apprication breakfast on us. We will be having coffee,orange juice, poptarts, muffins, milk boil eggs,water and they will all get a small free gift for coming. There will also be discounted coupons on carpet cleaning. Everything is free , just bring yourself!
