Choose Your Own Learning Quarterly Challenge
This event will challenge residents to learn something new. Collect ideas of fun and silly skills from which residents can choose! The basic premise is to have a list of different skills that residents can choose from to learn to do something new. YouTube star Max Maher shows his lifelong learning mindset through example. Max regularly tries to learn new things. Sometimes in only a matter of a few hours! His trials include learning fun tricks like juggling, riding a unicycle, spinning a pen, knife throwing, or any other “practice makes perfect” skill that strikes his fancy. Whole30 Meal Planning
Fall is a great time to embrace change in our environments and ourselves. We can renew our healthy intentions and step forward into changing our lives, and bodies, for the better! For some residents, this may mean revisiting their eating habits and changing their diets for better health (just in time for the holiday season.) Support your residents on their respective dieting journeys (whether vegan, vegetarian, plant-based, carnivore, keto, etc.). Make safe spaces for them to meet other residents on the same path. This creates those important community bonds and sometimes even new friendships! One meal plan that’s achieved well-known status is the Whole30. What is Whole30? The Whole30 is an extreme 30-day diet that emphasizes whole foods and the elimination of sugar, alcohol, grains, legumes, soy, and dairy. It can sometimes help adherents pinpoint food allergies!...

Model Airplane Building
Building models is a fun and challenging activity for older children and adults. It’s fun to make either a model airplane or a radio control kit that flies! It may sound intimidating to build model or remote control (RC) planes at first. But anyone can do it! It only takes patience, right tools, time, and effort to follow the instructions and get it put together step-by-step. The best way to organize this event is to register residents in advance. This way, you can collect the model kit fees and purchase materials in advance. Poll your residents and decide how much time and attention they will want to put into this project over several days (or weekends). Provide a Range of Model Kit...

Family Gardening Festival
For this community event, you’ll be inviting residents to take part in beautifying your property with plants! They can help with planning — and even get dirty planting — your seasonal flower and plant displays. Many Hands Make Short Work While management is responsible for final decisions on budgeting and buying plants, with this event, residents play a key role. They’ll help plan and design different plant displays and beds around the property. Most communities have a gardening team or service in charge of planting and maintaining the property. If so, reach out to them and see if they would be interested in hosting an informational planning session with your residents. Additionally, you can bring...
