Thanksgiving Events

The property where I live is having a contest for the best decorated patio/front door for Thanksgiving. A prize will go to the best decorated. Kind of nice to get everyone to participate. They always do for Christmas but not too many decorate for Thanksgiving.

A free Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner for all residents if they bring at least one non-perishable canned food item for the needy. Everyone has a good time and the pantry for the less fortunate in our community is helped.

This is the second year we are hosting our Thanksgiving Around the World Party. Since we have such a diverse group of residents living in our building we decided to get everyone involved in this event. We supply the main course (Turkey) and the drinks and ask our residents to bring a dish from their culture to share. We had such a great turn out last year and are looking forward to hosting it again.

We have sent out flyers to our residents informing them of a food drive to help our neighbors who are hungry. When a resident comes in to our leasing office to donate Non-perishable food items their name will be entered into a drawing. The winner will win a $25.00 gift card to a local grocery store so they can purchase a turkey or items needed for their Thanksgiving DInner. All through the year and especially during the holidays we like to reach out to help those who are in need. The food will be donated to Hands of Hope/St.James Episcopal CHurch.

The property will but the turkey and ham and the Residents will bring a side, salad or dessert to share. This is the first time we have done something like this so we will see how it goes.
