Hello, My name is Kevin Alderman and I am brand new to this website which I think is a brilliant way to pass ideas back and forth. I think a Comedy Night is a great way to get residents out mingling with each other and could help build relationships within the community. We try our best to make thins fun for everybody and convenient for you property managers and event planners. We will bring the sound equipment so you guys don't have to worry about it and even help out with staging of the clubhouse for the best possible show. When apartment communities think about apartment parties, they generally focus on their own events, whether it is that Black Friday Launch Party they have been wanting to do, or maybe a Hot Chocolate Bar For Your Winter Apartment Community Party. But there are ways to add value to the "lifestyle" program for your residents, without having to plan the event yourself! In the surrounding community, outside of the property, and in the city at large, there are often events you can leverage in your own events programming. Over the years Black Friday has become a tradition among many Americans. Host a Launch Party at your community very early in the morning with (strong) coffee, hot chocolate, donuts and fruit. In most cities the newspaper published the day before Thanksgiving is the largest of the year because of the Black Friday ads. Order enough copies for your residents and deliver them on Wednesday with print collateral promoting your Launch Party.

Several years ago, we thought it would be an amazing program to have Starbucks Frappuccinos at the pool on select Saturdays! Unfortunately, the challenge to making that happen was quite steep, but that may all be changing! Starbucks just announced that it is going to roll out a delivery service in select markets! One of our strong beliefs is that an amenity has no value to your residents if they don't actually use it. So while the pool really impressed them during the initial sale, once they live at the community for a while and never use it, the pool slowly loses value to them. So programs to maximize your existing amenities is absolutely crucial, and this is a great way to jumpstart the pool during the summer! As this is a new program, we don't know the exact details....

Get prepared for winter by planning a hot chocolate bar during your winter party!  We found this idea at Indianapoluxe and love their take on a simple hot chocolate!  Rather than simply providing hot chocolate, they give everybody the chance to customize it to their preferences by adding peppermint, peanut butter, marshmallows, or caramel. This is one of those small elements of an apartment party that isn't huge in itself, but adds a little magic to the event.  What other ingredients would be good to add?    

We have yet to meet a kid who doesn't like bubbles! And that goes for a lot of adults, too, so this is an event where everybody can have a good time. Now, the easy way out for a "bubble party" is to simply get loads of individual bubble bottles and just let the kids have fun. Here is a great activity idea that can be scaled up for a HUGE twister group! I found this idea on Pinterest, and what really has us excited is that you could essentially make a community-wide twister game! Seems like that is an opportunity for a Guinness World Record, don't you? Here is the original idea, where you cut circles out of a pizza box and start spray painting the colors across the lawn, making four columns of dots - red, blue, yellow, and green. She suggests using Rustoleum 2x coverage paint. For a large twister board, it would make sense to make two or three columns for a wider rectangle. When you think about event planning at your community, you don't have to be restricted to events that you host yourself! Any community can leverage events in the area, but most communities simply don't. So by keeping tabs on what is going on in the surrounding community, as well as within your own community, you will be able to easily and inexpensively expand your event calendar! Just make sure to really understand your residents, so you can pull together a list that caters to their interests. Fortunately, a lot of areas already have published lists of special events you can use to flesh out your own idea list. As a kid, there was nothing better than playing on a water bed. Of course, we were always one jump away from flooding the room, but it was always a blast. Well, now we have found a party idea that taps into our love of water beds - it is a Water Blob party for kids!
