Have you ever played Jenga? Have you ever played JUMBO JENGA? I saw a giant jenga set recently and thought about how cool it would be to have one (or more) of those in a community for tournament play! I would set it up like any other bracket tournament and have groups of four play each other on regular sized Jenga games. Winners from each group will get to play on the big Jenga set for the finale. Those giant sets can get a little expensive but if you know someone who is pretty good with woodworking, they wouldn't be too hard to make. Think of the special for that month. Divide it into different amounts, written on small pieces of paper. Then put them in plastic Easter eggs & hide them all over your mini model or model. Tell the prospect about the game and what they find only during the tour will be the special for their move in. This way you can time your tours, and not have to give the whole special amount. Great for the prospect and for the budget! Everybody wins!

A great, easy and inexpensive way to show appreciation for your residents is to offer a resident candy bar one day during resident appreciation week. Set up a beautifully decorated table with different candy bars, jelly beeans, twizzlers, starbursts for them to fill their goodie bags with. Help them embrace their inner child and show them your thinking of them as a valued resident.

The Olympics is the one sporting event that everyone loves, no matter their age, gender, nationality, or income. It brings people together as they cheer for their favorite athletes and dream about one day achieving greatness. Your residents will already be tuned in, so this is the perfect opportunity to generate excitement for a community-wide viewing party. Pick an evening and set up a movie projector at the pool so your residents can watch from their favorite pool float or lounge chair. As you wait for the sun to set, host a Children’s Water Olympics with various pool relays and award gold medals to winners. Once the show starts, kick back and relax as everyone enjoys a unique Olympic experience while sipping on a cold drink under the stars. We had residents send in their best photos of an Armed Forces Service Member, family or friend, past or present. The photo with the most likes on our facebook page won a gift card. The turnout was great and the photos were so memorable and special to see.

Take t-shirts, soak them in water, roll them up as small as possible, place them in the freezer. Once they are frozen bring them to your contest! While wearing a swimsuit (for ladies) and shirtless (for the men) individuals are given the frozen t-shirts. The person who is able to get their frozen tshirt put on properly, the quickest will win the T-shirt and a prize. We are doing this as an Olympic Games Event and we will be giving out Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the top three along with gift cards to Dairy Queen, Baskin Robbins etc..

People will race one on one bobbing for an apple, then taking the apple by their mouth over to a plate of caramel and running the apple in the caramel, then over to a plate of nuts and running the caramel apple through the plate of nuts. The person who completes making their caramel and nut apple the fastest will win a prize. (seen in Live with Kelly)

Parachutes will be filled with lots of different colored beach balls. Teams of no more than 5 will have 30 seconds to toss the beach balls into the air and off the parachute by holding the parachute on all sides and pushing it into the air. The team who is able to leave only 1 beach ball of a specific color in the parachute at the end of 30 seconds (or a bit longer if needed if noone succeeds in 30 seconds) will win a beach bag with summer pool items inside. Items will range from sunglasses, sunscreen, beach balls, beach towels etc.

We will hang water baloons from a tree or pole. Each water balloon color will have a specific prize associated with it. Prizes rang from gift cards to goodie bags. A person is blindfolded and spun around then they try to hit the ballons like a pinata. If within 3 swings they hit a balloon and it bursts, they will be awarded a prize that coincides with the balloon color.

When a person removes the a skewer and a colored balloon falls and bursts they will receive a prize that coincides with the color of the balloon.
