Organizational Workshop
Life is too complicated to not be orderly. -Martha Stewart Isn’t that the truth?! Help your residents get 2021 started on the right foot and host a virtual organization event for them. Reach out to organizational experts but DON’T just DM them. Send a professional email asking if they would be interested and available to help host an event for your community. Outline what benefits your community can offer. For example, exposure to __ (number) of residents and an opportunity to be the go-to expert and first choice to educate new residents. Many smaller organizational accounts and businesses may be trying to build their business and an event like this could be mutually beneficial! Decide on the time and duration of the event. Get your flyers customized and place them in public areas to invite your residents. ...

There’s too many way to list, but here are a few ways to get involved: Hold A Clothing Drive Shelters and halfway houses are always in need of clothing. How To Prepare For & Properly Advertise For An Event
Start planning at least two months in advance. All good events take time to plan, and if you’re patient and take that time, you’re always going to be happy with the results. Pool parties are great and all, but they’re super easy and don’t take much time to throw together. Most things require preparation, budget planning, shopping, and creating! Put your creative side to work and put the effort in to create something more detailed to draw your residents’ interest. A good event takes two to three months to plan out properly and make sure that every single detail is just right. Advertise, Advertise, Advertise. You can’t expect people to show up if they don’t know something is happening, and mentioning it in a newsletter isn’t...

We’ve all been there. Budgets are the bane of the property manager’s existence, and it can limit our ability to do resident activities. Here are some very budget friendly ideas for your next event! Patio/Door Decorating Contest Tap into your residents’ creativity and give them something to do when they’re stuck at home during the holidays! All it would cost you is a small prize of some kind. You could offer $25 off their next month’s rent, or even put together a gift basket with items donated from a few local businesses in exchange for advertising. You’d be surprised how many companies will offer product...

Recreating Famous Works of Art
We are all looking for ways to engage with our residents when we can't meet in person, so this is a great way to have fun and build a sense of community! Majority of us are stuck at home during Coronavirus quarantine and can’t go out and enjoy art in museums on the streets or just out and about, that doesn’t mean that life has to be boring. Recently, the Getty Museum challenged people to recreate a work of art with objects that people already have in their home. We thought this would be a great idea for residents of apartment communities as well! Have your residents choose their favorite artwork and then try to recreate it at home! You can have them email you photos or post them on your community Facebook page! Feel free to make it your own and hold contests or specify...

Kids Bounce Balls
We saw these Bounce Balls with Handles for kids to bounce on and thought they would be great for a community event. You can purchase one for less than $10 on Amazon for the younger ones at your community. You can also purchase from Walmart  and several other online stores. At any event, you can add a Bounce Ball Race, a Bounce Ball arena, or just have an area designated for kids to bounce around on their own.

Best Use of Space in Apartment Contest
We wrote a few years back about having an Apartment Decorating Contest for your community residents. But with the current minimalist and KonMari craze, you can also have fun showcasing how residents are putting their organizing skills to good use at home! Besides submitting their stylized pictures of different rooms, residents can share up close and personal shots of their organized cabinets, cupboards, and closet spaces. This is a fantastic way to show off all the storage your units offer. It can also generate some high-quality and personalized images to use in your community’s marketing. Residents can submit their apartment decorating and design pictures of their styled apartments. But also let them write a brief description or essay about how they stay organized at home. Use these photos for your marketing materials. Just be sure to get...
