As everybody has busy lives, finding time to drop off cloths to the local donation center can be a challenge! So invite each resident to bring as many new or gently used items to the community office to be donated to Goodwill. Have food, snacks, drinks, gift card give-aways and a grand prize raffle. But beyond simply donating clothes, we though a good incentive would be to help residents “Fill Up” their closet, too! Shredding For Support
We ran across this event a while back and thought it was a great idea! Throwing away critical documents that have account numbers is not a good idea, so having an occasional “shred” day is a good way to offer a service and in this case, raise money for a local cause. "Join us This Saturday April 14, 2012 from 10AM-1PM for our Community Shred Day! Come and witness your private documents being destroyed for $5.00 per standard size (1.2cf) file box. A percentage of all the days’ proceeds will be made on behalf of the Pine Mill Ranch Swim Team. Since this is the startup year for the Swim Team we are in desperate need of your support. Please Repost to your wall and help spread the word for this worth cause! Hope to see you there! Donations are greatly appreciated. The Pine Mill Ranch...

Start by letting all residents and local bussiness know that you are going to be hosting a care package event to support the troops. Have those donate from a list things that are needed to our soldiers. Have a community event with local bussineess that you have networked with and have them set up a booth and bring donated prizes to raffel off as people bring their care packages (you can also do this with your vendors). Also, can have games, ect and charge a $1 all procedes go to the delivery of the care packages. Have your staff dress up in military attire. You can do this with any charitable event. Outside marketing will bring in other community residents.
