Fairway Games and Activities for your Summer Carnival
When planning a summer carnival party sometimes you need to think outside the box to cater to your residents. One community with a lot of college students included both bungee trampolines and bungee runs as part of their festival offerings. If you have a more diverse age range of residents you’re going to want to ensure that you have a variety of carnival activities, fairway type games, and other competitions to keep residents entertained. Making or renting? While carnival services do exist in most states, the games themselves can be expensive to rent, costing anywhere from $150-500 each. Making your own games costs a fraction of that and can also be a boredom-beating project for your team. There are plenty of fairway game ideas and many are almost free to make. ...

Build Your Own Hot Dog Party
The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council designates July as National Hot Dog Month and July 23 as National Hot Dog Day! Even though you’ll have to wait until August for National Mustard Day, you can celebrate this favorite food by creating a Hot Dog Bar for your residents. Include all the condiments and sides needed to replicate the variety of ways to remix the classic hot dog. Prepping for the event When putting together your Hot Dog Bar, be sure to keep these pointers in mind: • Ensure that you have a few kosher and vegetarian versions of dogs available - for those residents that want or need them. • Keep lots of extra serving spoons available in case someone walks off with one of them accidentally. ...

END OF SCHOOL DRIVE-IN MOVIE PARTY
Summer is just around the corner, and your resident children will be finishing up school in just a few short weeks. Why not kick off the summer by rewarding your littlest residents for their year-long hard work with a Drive-in Movie Party? This party puts a fun spin on the classic drive-in movie and combines three of the things youngsters love the most - movies, treats and cardboard boxes! The outdoor screen and projector you will need to pull off this Drive-in Movie Party are a teeny bit on the spendy side; however, you will be able to use them to entertain your residents at events for many years to come. Amazon has a 12 foot inflatable movie screen for only $149.98, and there are a variety of projectors and speakers to choose from. Simply set the screen up outside, hook up the projector and...

JAWS at the Pool!
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the pool...   Set up a movie projector next to the pool and screen the classic, JAWS!  Provide inner tubes, so that residents can lounge in the pool as the Great White terrorizes Amity Island.  If you are feeling adventurous, have one person troll the pool depths, nipping at toes during the most tense movie moments. Before the movie starts, add in some games of Sharks and Minnows to get the theme going!   We also found this awesome watermelon shark you can try out! Bubble Party
We have yet to meet a kid who doesn't like bubbles! And that goes for a lot of adults, too, so this is an event where everybody can have a good time. Now, the easy way out for a "bubble party" is to simply get loads of individual bubble bottles and just let the kids have fun. Yes, there would be bubbles everywhere, but we like to do things BIG around here! 1) Bubble Bottles - Yes, we still want to include these, as they are easy to distribute and easy for kids to use. Here is a recipe we found at Happy Hooligans for bubbles, and will be important to make the giant bubbles later in this tutorial! · 6 cups water (distilled is best but tap water is...
