Members of the Multifamily Sharespace Facebook Group shared some of their favorite Resident Events: A long time ago, the property owners were Travelers insurance. We had $1000 budget per resident event. That's translates to about $2500 today. We had some amazing parties. A full Halloween carnival on the tennis courts, a full spaghetti dinner for Mother’s Day, rented a big screen TV and a double header baseball game with hot dogs and a keg of beer for Father’s Day. We saw these Bounce Balls with Handles for kids to bounce on and thought they would be great for a community event. You can purchase one for less than $10 on Amazon for the younger ones at your community. You can also purchase from Walmart  and several other online stores. At any event, you can add a Bounce Ball Race, a Bounce Ball arena, or just have an area designated for kids to bounce around on their own.

Building models is a fun and challenging activity for older children and adults. It’s fun to make either a model airplane or a radio control kit that flies! It may sound intimidating to build model or remote control (RC) planes at first. But anyone can do it! It only takes patience, right tools, time, and effort to follow the instructions and get it put together step-by-step. The best way to organize this event is to register residents in advance. This way, you can collect the model kit fees and purchase materials in advance. One of the best ways to achieve our goals is to keep them top of mind. This way we're always consciously and subconsciously looking for ways to move closer to them. Vision boards are a powerful tool to help us reach our goals, and a great activity to complete with your community residents. This event can be adapted for children, pre-teens, teens, and adults. We suggest holding a child-friendly event in the day time and saving any adults-only party for evening hours. This works best as an indoor event, but it can also be held outdoors on a still and quiet day (remember, making paper collages and high winds don’t go great together!)
