Diwali popularly known as the "festival of lights” is a holiday originated in India. The Hunters Chase team brought the magic of Diwali from India to Miamisburg, Ohio. We had luminaries leading our residents to the party in the clubhouse. We have engaged all of residents to attend the festivities, sample Indian cuisine, and to learn the something about the Indian Culture. We asked our resident to join in a cooking contest to compete to win 1 of 3 great prizes. We feel it is important to learn and grow with our diverse community’s population.

Fantastic idea!!
I absolutely love this idea! I think this might be the first time I've heard of a Diwali celebration in an apartment community.

I love this! I had a community in Naperville, Il. where I was the manager for 10 years. It was approximately 40% from India and if you take care of your residents from India and in generaal, you will NEVER have an occupancy problem! Each year, I always thought they were decorating for my holiday patio/balcony decoating contest! :) Then I found out about their holiday! :) (I still think it was for my decorating contest!) Appreciate your residents from this culture...you will learn to love it!
