Beat the Heat Water Balloon Fun Day Hot
Ready for a thrilling day filled with water games, balls, and more summer fun! People of all ages will absolutely love being a part of the event. However, this event is especially fun for kids.
For this event, you’ll require many water balloons depending on the number of participants. We suggest purchasing something like this gadget to help you fill up 100 water balloons at once! It’s only $10.
You can also enlist the help of staff and volunteers to make sure you‘re well-stocked up before your event begins.

The first activity planned for the event is a Bigfoot game with water balloons.
For this activity, you need:
•A large piece of cardboard or foam to cut out big feet.
•10 water balloons to put in place of toe nails.
•A pair of sandals glued to the big cardboard feet.
How to Play
Ask residents to step into the “Big Feet” and run to a certain point without stumbling, falling, or losing the water balloons. Give them one minute to get to their destination.
This game is likely to fill residents with laughter and joy as they try to run and make it to the end line in time!
***TIP*** Give away prizes to participants who complete the race in time.

Another exciting activity to include at your event is a game of “Water Balloon Piñatas.”
For this game, you will need:
•An open outdoor space
•Ribbon, yarn, or string
•Lots of water balloons
•A bat or stick
•Blindfold (optional)
How to Play
1.Fill your water balloons generously.
2.Tie them to a string and hang the water balloons upside down.
3.Make teams of children to compete against each other. You can also let players have a go individually.
4.Give one player a stick and ask them to strike the balloons. Enjoy the splashes of water that spread around with each strike!
***CAUTION*** Since this game involves striking with a stick, make sure that other residents remain a safe distance from the striker.
Watch the video below for a step-by-step demonstration of how to make and play water balloon piñatas.
***BONUS*** To add to the fun, you can blindfold the player and see how many strikes go right!
Ice Excavation

Learning and fun go hand in hand! This heat-breaking activity will be both fun and a great learning opportunity for the kids.
For this activity you will need:
•Cheap plastic toys, bead necklaces, confetti, etc.
•Medium-sized containers to freeze the ice.
How it works:
1.Put in your selected choice of items (such as plastic toys, beads, and flowers) in containers.
2.Fill them up with water and freeze overnight.
3.On the day of your event, give the ice sculptures to children to excavate.
***TIP*** Need to speed up the process? Place the ice sculpture in direct sun.
You can also give children tools for excavation such as popsicle sticks, plastic spades, warm water bottles, hoses/sprinklers, etc. This will help children feel like they are scientists on a mission to excavate an archeological site!
