To spike or not to spike...that is the question!
Everyone is familiar with the classic lemonade stand. You know, that cute little one that you would set up outside your house when you were a kiddo to make a couple bucks for that new toy you wanted?! Now it’s time to do that for your residents...but with a twist (and tailored to all ages)!
Remember: these sort of events can be a stay and chat type event or a grab-n-go. There’s something for everyone!

BRING IT TO LIFE
#1 - Lemonade Stand At The Entrance
- Keep it simple for the kid’s lemonade by using the simple water and mix recipe or go homemade if you want to make it extra special!
- Set up your station with the lemonade, cups, and straws outdoors at the entrance. For some extra fun, have a speaker for some summer tunes.
- Have the box of chalk on display and encourage kids to chalk the sidewalks with some fun summer drawings.
- Take all the pictures of the kiddos sidewalk creations. If you plan on sharing photos of your residents online, make sure to get their permission.
#2 - Spiked Lemonade Yappy Hour
- Spike it up for the adult version!
- Set up your station with the lemonade, cups, and straws outdoors at your dog park or near where you residents take their pets for a walk. For some extra fun, have a speaker for some summer tunes.
- Add your pet supplies to your table like pet treats and bowl of water on the floor next to the table.
- If you decide to have both the plain lemonade and the spiked lemonade, make sure to LABEL THE DRINK DISPENSER ACCORDINGLY! You won’t want to deal with that little mix up! ???? We recommend setting up different tables too for a little extra peace of mind!
- Take all the pictures of your residents and pets. If you plan on sharing photos of your residents online, make sure to get their permission.
Prior to the event:
- Post the invitation around the community and on social media. We recommend doing this 2 weeks before, a week before and the day before.
The day of:
- Post one last final reminder on social media
- Set up your table and take a picture before your residents come.
- Take some pictures of your team at the table to post on social media right before the event. Don’t be afraid to show some behind the scenes shots.
