Jewelry-Making Craft Night

This artistic event is for the ladies in your community. It allows them to come together and have a jewelry making craft night!

This event is likely to be fun to those who have a passion for fashion, crafts, and exploring their creative side. It will also serve as a therapeutic process and allow residents to take a break from their stressful daily routines.

For this event, consider finding an instructor who can help your residents make stunning handmade jewelry for themselves or their loved ones. You could look up some local craft or jewelry designers to facilitate the event.

***TIP*** Check in with your instructor for specific materials suggestions.

For this event, you may need:

·         Earring hooks

·         Pendant hooks

·         Beads, needles, and thread

·         Construction paper or old magazines

·         Glue

·         Resin and resin moulds

·         Wool or thick yarn

·         Pieces of cardboard

·         Scissors

·         Clippers and jewelry pliers

We suggest making stations for different jewelry crafts. We’ve listed some ideas of jewelry craft projects below.

This is a unique craft activity that will amaze your residents! They’ll be able to make beautiful pieces of jewelry using only construction paper, glue, and sandpaper.

Here is a detailed guide to making these unique construction paper stones for their jewelry.

Resin Jewelry Station

You can also make stunning pieces of jewelry using different shapes and designs of resins! Add glue, glitter, and glittery nail polish. Top it all off with a coat of clear nail polish.

Residents can get creative with their resin jewelry designs by using stamps, feathers, and other craft supplies. Here is a good tutorial to help the participants get creative with resin designs.

***TIP*** Making jewelry from scratch can be time consuming, so consider dividing some of these activities over a course of a few different sessions.

Woven Jewelry Station

A woven jewelry making project may look daunting to some. We suggest having multiple copies of the step-by-step instructions for the project ready. This will help residents easily make their own woven items.

The best part is they will learn and have fun along the way!

Need Help with Techniques?

The video below shows how to assemble hooks and wires to form a piece of jewelry. It’s a Jewelry 101 course, which residents could watch as a group.

In the video, Candice Cooper demonstrates a few jewelry-making basics, including:

·         How to use jump rings

·         How to wrap simple rings

·         How to create earrings, pendants, and so much more!

So get your materials ready and enjoy a jewelry-making bonanza!
