A while back, we shared a goofy party activity where we created a modern day fun house like the old school curved mirrors. Today, we found out about a completely different type of fun house device, called a speech jammer! Basically, it repeats your own speech back to you, which confuses your brain and has a fun side effect of making it really hard to talk. So try setting this up at your community event and record residents trying to speak while it is “jamming” their speech! We were looking for a fun and easy Cinco de Mayo party idea this year and decided to go simple with a brunch. We contacted a local Mexican restaurant and had them cater. We mad a big batch of sangria and invited our residents to the party. We kept the decorations simple. Red/White/Green plates, napkins and tablecloths, a few pinatas from Party City and a sombrero or two for fun pictures of our residents. It was fun (and delicious).

If you have a dog park on property this is perfect. If not try a local dog park. You can always open the club house to the dogs but something outside is definitely better and somewhere that off-leash is allowed is best! Contact local vets, doggie daycares and dog walkers and ask them to come meet your residents, their pets and perhaps even bring gifts for the pups or coupons/info for the owners. There is little required for this event. You might buy some dog treats and/or small toys for the dogs but it's more about getting your pet owners to interact.
