Another oldie but goodie. Residents love it and kids do too. Fun to change it up with different things in the jars for the seasons. We have had candy, holiday lights, toys, and so many other things too.

My residents LOVE this especially after the 1st of the year. We purchased the whole CD set and put it on the big screen and get dancing. We provide lots of water and fresh towels. Sometimes we add fruit trays or smoothies to the mix for fun.

Used a Easter usually but can be brought out at picnic socials too.

Utilize your club house by hosting a speed dating night. Gather some tables and chairs, have your local pizza place cater the event, and invite your residents and their friends to come for a night of speed dating. There are a couple of ways to do this... 1. A general Race:Have participants line up at the start line (drawn with chalk) and race across to the finish while holding an egg on a spoon. First one there with an intact egg wins. 2. A Relay Race:Have participants team up. The first runner, carrying an egg on a spoon, runs to the second runner and has to transfer the egg to the new runner's spoon without dropping it. Then the second runner finishes the race and the first one to the finish line with an intact egg wins! Depending on how much of a mess you're willing to clean up, you can use hard boiled eggs or raw eggs!    

Each player is dealt seven "red apple" cards; on each card is printed a noun or noun phrase, or possibly a gerund. The judge (a chosen player) draws a "green apple" card on which is printed an adjective ("scary", "frivolous", "patriotic", etc.), and places it face-up on the table for everybody to see. Then each player (except the judge) chooses a card that they think is the best match for the green apple card, and places it face-down. The judge shuffles the red apple cards, reads them (often aloud), and decides which noun is the best match for the adjective. This decision is subjective; the official rules encourage the judge to pick the match that is "most creative, humorous or interesting". The player who submitted the chosen red apple card wins the round, and takes the green apple card to signify the win. All players then draw red cards...

Valentine’s Day and chocolate seem to go hand in hand. Celebrate the holiday of love with a Chocolate Extravaganza! A chocolate fountain is ideal for this type of celebration. It provides a stunning centerpiece. Creating the chocolate to put in the fountain is fairly simple. You simmer cream over medium heat, then stir in chopped up pieces of chocolate. You can dip whatever you like into the chocolate fountain, but it is always ideal to have a variety of items ranging from sweet to salty to savory. You can pretty much use any type of fruit, but the most popular include strawberries, cherries, pineapple, berries, apples, tangerines, oranges, pears, dried fruit, peaches, pomegranate and figs. Other ideal dipping items include marshmallows, biscotti, gummy candies, gingerbread, sugar cookies, cubed brioche, baklava, fruitcake, chopped nuts (to sprinkle on dipped items) thick cut potato chips, Rice Crispies squares, pretzels,...
