One of the biggest challenges to any apartment party is simply getting more attendance. So why not create a situation where every single resident is not only invited to a party, but is actually needed at the party? This is a general scavenger hunt type party, where teams are created based upon their building number, floor number, or some other logical subgroup at the apartment community. Prior to the party, each resident is given part of a treasure map, maybe in their mail box, with instructions on how to find the scavenger hunt items. In other words, each resident has a vital piece of the puzzle, so there is an incentive for fellow teammates to get as many fellow residents to come as possible. Summer Luau party invites all resident and their friends and family. Each year at least 250 people attend. Lunch, desserts, and all drinks are provided for everyone. Over 50 raffle prizes for all ages to win. Games inlcude: bags, water balloon toss, volleyball, pool games, and more.

(This was anonymously submitted to us) Flyers were passed out around the community a month in advance, included in mailings and redistributed the week of the event. The flyer said we were “Rolling Out the Red Carpet for OUR Stars at ABC Apartments”. Residents walked the "Red Carpet" in to our annual pool party and were greeted by a huge inflatable Oscar on each side of the door way. The music was very dramatic and classical for the beginning of the party. Once inside the residents were met by the paparazzi, who took their photo in front of the "Hollywood" sign. Then they were directed to huge picture where they were asked to identify as many of the actors as possible. We later awarded a prize to the resident who was able to write down the most names. The residents loved this! Many stood there exchanging...
