Revitalizing The Clubhouse To Market Your Community
This is going to be one of those strange events that has almost nothing to do with your actual residents. I know that sounds strange, but bear with us. Although our clubhouses can be absolutely beautiful, as they should be considering the investment we make in them, another descriptive word can also apply: Empty. Of course this does not apply to all communities, but oftentimes, the clubhouse is an attractive wasteland, used only to entice prospects into moving into the community, but not really serving much function beyond that. So the next question is, "does it really matter"? Does it matter that our community clubhouse is deserted? Well, maybe not, but here are some thoughts we should consider about the apartment community clubhouse: · ...

Event Hijacking - Building Out The Community Lifestyle With Outside Events
When apartment communities think about apartment parties, they generally focus on their own events, whether it is that Black Friday Launch Party they have been wanting to do, or maybe a Hot Chocolate Bar For Your Winter Apartment Community Party. But there are ways to add value to the "lifestyle" program for your residents, without having to plan the event yourself! In the surrounding community, outside of the property, and in the city at large, there are often events you can leverage in your own events programming. We actually received an online invitation from an apartment community to attend the "2014 Christmas Parade". Our first reaction was that we had never seen a community put on a parade before, but it turns out that they were simply sharing information about the city's Christmas Parade. Granted, we were not residents at the community, so their...

Resident of the Month!
When most people think of outreach marketing, they often don't pull their existing residents into the mix! So for this event, pick a resident who works for a larger company that might also be a good outreach marketing target. Order a cookie cake, edible arrangement, or something you know the resident likes and can share with his or her co-workers. Personally deliver the goodies with a card signed by the staff to the resident and thank them for being a resident. The resident will definitely be surprised, and his or her co-workers will surely ask questions about the special delivery. Make sure to stick a few flyers on the goodies you decide to give to the resident so they can share those too. Before delivering the goodies make sure it is okay to show up at your resident’s place of employment you don’t want to...

Community Clubhouse Parties Hosted By Residents
A while back we asked what people’s best apartment party idea was, and one person responded, “Allow your clubhouse for wedding showers, baby showers, etc for free”. Granted, this isn’t an event that is meant to be provided for residents, so we weren’t sure if it should be shared on Resident Events, but there were some unique benefits to doing so, so we thought we would throw it out there to chew on. Here are some benefits we brainstormed by implementing this: 1) Value add for the residents. Having a location open to them, even if they don’t use it, would definitely something valuable to your residents. 2) Great marketing opportunity. These events will be predominantly for non-residents, so it’s a great apartment marketing opportunity to showcase your community and clubhouse....

Resident picture day!
Have a professional Photographer show up and let your residents schedule appointments with them to take individual or family pictures on some of the beautiful parts of your community. I love taking pictures with my family but sometimes it is difficult to make the time to make an appointment, go to a new location, and all the hassle that goes with professional pictures…if a photographer were right there in my community though…. I’d definitely do it. This would be great exposure for your beautiful community as that photographer may use some for the pictures from your shoot to promote his known business (by giving your property credit as the location of course). Think about facebook posts and tags with your community and their residents on YOUR PROPERTY. Photo Credit to auggie tolosa http://www.flickr.com/photos/auggie_tolosa/
