This event was suggested by a resident to get us away from the same old door to door trick or treating.
Designate a section of the parking lot to hold the event. Have volunteer residents decorate their trunks and provide candy for the actual trunk or treating part. Host games such as bobbing for apples, ring toss, corn hole, etc.
We have ZERO budget for this event so we've asked our residents to donate candy, prizes, and decorations. It's already a success!
