Oscar Night

Roll out the red carpet and pop the popcorn for a funfilled night of movie extravaganza!

Decorating: In the community room you decorate with movie posters, have a red carpet outside leading up to the community building, rent the large sky lights to highlight the event, and hang a banner above the door announcing your "Movie Event".

Fun and Games: Pass out ballots for residents to vote for their winner in each category. The resident with the most correct answers wins a prize. Gold awards are available at party stores. Have residents dress as their favorite movie star. Plat charades trying to guess movie titles.

Food: Champagne, finger food, star shaped cookies, sandwiches, etc. popcorn

I Love this idea!!!! I will be doing this one! It sounds like a ton of FUN! We have a video library also for the residents. I am going to have them place which movies they want me to purchase in a box at the end of the night as well. Thanks for the idea!

What a wonderful way to help quelch the winter doldrums and get people active! I especially like the fact that this idea is a great one for either a family site or an elderly site. Wouldn't it be neat to have the residents from an elderly site dress up like the actors and actresses from decades long ago? I bet their take on a unforgettable movie would be so much different that what we think in today's society. What a nice way to reminisce about the "good ole days." What a classic idea and one that will surely bring the folks out.

This is a great idea and to put a spin on it, why not take it out to the pool on a summer or fall evening. there are companies out there who offer blow up screens and projectors for outdoor events. Bring a popcorn and/or snow cone machine and have a "dive in" Movie night! :)
